Hey!

I read through the rules yesterday and came across the part with the different ways of using Chi. In that part of the book it says that you use chi for combat techniques and that the cost is stated under the specific techniques. But in the part with the techniques chi is never mentioned.

So how does this work? Do the techniques cost chi? And how much?
Thanks in advance!

Hm, I don't remember combat techniques costing chi, usually they give you -1 to your roll, but I've got the 7eme Cercle version rather than the C7 one, so there might be a difference.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Previously I've played like that, harder rolls but no chi cost but now I got slightly puzzled. I reckon some techniques could cost chi such as long shot and double blow/parry as these would suggest some effort but throw and charge would just be wierd if they cost chi...

Why do you reckon that? Can you cite the passage of the book giving you confusion?

I haven't looked at Qin for a while but I didn't think combat techniques cost chi.

QUOTE
If a character wishes to use a secret thrust, one of the ancient combat techniques by which divine warriors distinguish themselves from mortal swordsmen, he must spend a certain number of Chi points. The number will be given in the description of the relevant Technique, but note that secret thrusts will only appear in the Qin screen.

It' s on page 60 of the rulebook. But those rules for Chi just seem to apply for the Techniques in the Legends-book.
