So, while I understand the translation of this book is probably far off in the future, I'm still curious about it. Mainly, is this a book that introduces unarmed combat into the setting? Something more along the lines of Dragon Tiger Gate (in terms of kung fu)? Or more like the current game?

In S&W, there are more than 50 kung-fu styles - armed and unarmed.
90% of them are historical and we tried to fit the rules with the reality of these techniques. -------------------- One of the french author of Qin. ;)

Despite the fact I have this in French, or maybe because of it since while I can read it, it takes a lot of work...
I'd love to see this one be moved ahead on the translation schedule. If only because I think it's probably what more US gamers seem to want from Qin. |

I would certainly approve of its move up in the translation schedule. One thing I've always liked about the Qin rpg is that the system would lend itself well to other historical settings.

I'll add my vote for moving Shaolin and Wudang up in the translation que. I've got al of the translated Qin stuff, but that book is what I really want next.

Yes, I'd also like to see the Shaolin and Wudang supplement sooner rather than later.

I'd vote for this as well. Right after Art of War, since presumably AoW isnt so far off.

It has bee so long that I almost forgot about S&W. I hope that it will see the light of day if only for those who have been actually waiting years for this supplement.

Following the Art of War this is also the one I would like to see next. I really love the era S&W is set in.

As someone with the French version... And a huge Wuxia fan who's quite active on the RPG community.
This is the supplement the people want in a Wuxia game. Flat out. It addresses many of the criticisms, and gives people a lot of the things they want from it. It IS the Qin Supplement that could bring this back to the radar. |

@Dulahan: Can' t you just fan-translate the whole book for those of us who are not able to read french well enough? Pleeeaaase?
Actually I am fond enough of this setting that if I could buy the French pdf of this book somewhere, I would gladly use the cursed google translator to well read it ... it' s a pain, but I have done it before. -------------------- No man hath greater love than he who layeth down his life for his enemy.

In the words of a Band that found its way into another part of the forum here:
This Dark And Twisty Road ... But well .. still fighting myself about buying the French book, and typing it down into the translator ... others focus chi - I focus nerd ... lol ... but then I look at the Warring States book and figure that both will have the same amount of pages and that S&W will be in retail before I could finish doing it myself ... -------------------- No man hath greater love than he who layeth down his life for his enemy.
